What is "kormo"?


Kormo is a Greek word meaning “log” or “body of something.” It’s similar to how we refer to “log cakes,” but trust me, you’ve never experienced a log cake quite like this. Unlike traditional log cakes, Kormo isn't technically a cake at all—it’s not baked and doesn’t contain flour or eggs. Instead, it’s a rich, indulgent dessert that stands apart from typical cakes.


In Greece, it’s also known by other names, like Mosaiko or Chocolate Salami, all of which refer to the same delightful dessert.

While many Greeks proudly claim this treat as their own, they aren’t alone. A total of 14 countries, including Greece, each argue for their claim as the birthplace of this beloved dessert. The variety of recipes is endless, yet the core flavors and textures remain mostly the same

What is "kormo"?



Kormo is Greek for log or body of something. Very much how we refer to log cakes as a log, however,

you've never had a 

"log cake" like this before. It's not technically a cake at all, because it isn't baked, We don’t use flour or eggs either.


"mosaiko" and "chocolate salami" are simply other names for the same style of dessert.


Although Greeks would like to lay claim to this delicious dessert, 

13 other old-world countries claim to be the originators totaling 14. 


The recipes out there are endless however, the overall style and taste are pretty much the same...
